Festivities
To whom it may concern,
Consider this letter an open invitation to the Ball of the Century. Over one hundred years ago, in 1923, the Fête Merveilleuse (a ball of the most grand proportions) took place within the Château of Versailles. Now that more than a century has passed, we would like to humbly extend our welcome for members of a new generation to purchase a ticket to this reliving of the Fête. With a heavy spotlight on dancing and enjoyment all around, this is the event of a lifetime- so hurry up and purchase a ticket to the Fête Merveilleuse, reborn!
The evening shall begin with a dance performance in the Hall of Mirrors. Following that, you will be guided to the Queen’s Apartments, where, with the aid of an assortment of actors, you will be transported straight back to the Roaring 20s. Once that has transpired, Musicians from the Orchestra of the Royal Opera will delight your ears as they perform during an intermission.
Once the Orchestra has performed, a fireworks display will take place, viewed from the Hall of Mirrors.
In between all of these events, there will be multiple opportunities to dance with a partner- whether you’re coming with someone familiar or here to meet someone new, this event makes the night of a lifetime.
After midnight, the historical dancing takes an abrupt turn towards something closer to our time- an absolutely fantastic afterparty full of modern beats and tracks.
Make sure to come in attire which truly exemplifies the spirit of the roaring 20s- come in ballgowns, tuxedos, flapper dresses, whatever fits the theme! Champagne and a wonderful buffet are provided, so come with an empty stomach and full heart! Happy partying!
Regards,
The Château de Versailles Event Organisation Committee
